Attorney Traci Lacock recently obtained the dismissal of a family practice physician in a medical malpractice case. In that case, the family of a recently deceased nursing home resident in central Wyoming alleged that the family practice doctor breached the standard of care in treating the resident. Prior to the medical review panel hearing, Lacock obtained expert witness opinions providing favorable opinions that the physician met the standard of care and that, while unfortunate, the resident’s deteriorating health and dementia prevented any additional productive care. Plaintiff’s counsel agreed to voluntarily dismiss the physician prior to the medical review panel hearing.
