Hirst Applegate, LLP’s roots run deep in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Seventy-eight years ago, Byron Hirst—the founder of the firm—served as the Laramie County Attorney. In the summer of 1944, Hirst prosecuted a bribery scheme that led to the conviction of Cheyenne’s Mayor, Chief of Police, and two other Officers. Recently, Hirst Applegate attorneys Billie LM Addleman and Tyson R. Woodford researched and authored an article on the trial. The piece, entitled, Byron Hirst’s Case Against Cheyenne Corruption, was recently published in the Wyoming Lawyer Magazine.
