Hirst Applegate associate John Fritz gave a presentation entitled “This Land Was My Land, and Now It’s Their Land: The Anthem of Adverse Possession in Wyoming” to the Wyoming State Bar’s Young Lawyer Section. John’s practice focuses on estate planning, probate, business organization (formation, operation, and dissolution), and real estate transactions. His presentation discussed the factual complexity of adverse possession claims and gave specific examples from Wyoming caselaw to show what type of situations will satisfy the elements of adverse possession. John also discussed how to use those elements to evaluate a potential adverse possession claim both from the adverse possessor’s and record owner’s perspectives.
