Partner Billie Addleman recently assisted a client in responding to a complaint with the Wyoming State Bar. The client, an out-of-state attorney, was the subject of an unauthorized practice of law complaint under Rule 5.5 of the Wyoming Rules of Professional Conduct. Addleman worked with the client to respond to the allegations. Following the submission of a response, including sworn testimony from the client and supporting materials, the matter was dismissed. Wyoming Bar Counsel found, after a thorough review of the file, that there was nothing to pursue from a disciplinary standpoint and the file was closed.
Over the past decade, Addleman has represented clients before numerous licensing boards, including the Board of Medicine, Board of Dental Examiners, Board of Nursing and Wyoming Real Estate Commission. He also provides risk management training to realtors, including the importance of documentation and how to avoid litigation and licensing complaints.
