On November 17, 2012, Wyoming high school students competed in the Wyoming High School Mock Trial Competition was held at the Laramie County Government Complex. The competition provides high school students the opportunity to prepare and argue a case before a jury. For the second year in a row, Central High School won first place. Central High School competed at the National High School Mock Trial Competition in Indianapolis, Indiana in May. Central High School was coached by Amy Jo Heatherly, a teacher at Central High School, Rob Jarosh, a partner attorney at Hirst Applegate, LLP, and Kara Ellsbury, an associate attorney at Hirst Applegate, LLP. Mr. Jarosh and Ms. Ellsbury have coached the team since 2004 and 2010 respectively.
